Burleigh Surf Apartments works for a three-generation holiday because one building holds all of it. Across our thirty floors you can put the whole group in a six-bedroom penthouse that sleeps twelve, or spread out over neighbouring apartments. This guide covers the room configurations, big-group dining, all-ages activities and the practical bits, all within a few minutes of our front door.

Which apartments fit a three-generation group?

The short answer is that you have two good ways to do it, and both keep everyone in the same tower at the north end of Burleigh.

If the group wants to be together, our six-bedroom penthouse is a two-storey apartment that sleeps up to twelve. It is the one booking that puts grandparents, parents and kids under a single roof with a shared kitchen and living space and those long ocean views from the balconies.

If you would rather have a little separation at bedtime, book more than one apartment for the trip. The layouts give you room to mix and match:

  • Three-bedroom sub-penthouse (floors 25 to 30): 1 king, 1 queen and 2 singles, or 1 queen and 4 singles, sleeping up to 7.
  • Three-bedroom Superior (floor 17): a king plus singles, sleeping up to 7, good for the main family group.
  • Two-bedroom apartments: a queen plus a double or two singles, sleeping up to 5.
  • One-bedroom Superior: a queen for up to 3, a quiet base for the grandparents.

A common combination is a three-bedroom for the family and a one-bedroom nearby for the grandparents. Every apartment has its own full kitchen and laundry, so each part of the group can keep its own rhythm, early risers and slow starters included.

Where can we all eat out with eight or more people?

The easiest big-group dinner near us is Miami Marketta, about five minutes up the road. It is an undercover street-food hall with seating for around 1,200 people and free live music, and it does not take bookings, so a group of eight or twelve simply turns up and grabs a run of tables. Everyone orders what they want from the vendors, which solves the classic problem of feeding a fussy six-year-old and a steak-loving grandad at the same table. It runs Wednesday to Saturday from 5pm.

For a sit-down meal with a view, Burleigh Pavilion sits right above Burleigh Beach at the southern point, a short drive or a walk along the sand. The space seats up to 400, it takes larger group bookings, and the menu runs from wood-fired pizzas and burgers to prawns, with a kids menu and vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. Guests keep mentioning the beach views from the deck at sunset, so book a table near the front if you can. It opens from 11am every day except Christmas Day.

If a night in suits the little ones better, our undercover barbecue and dining area lets the group cook and eat together on site without anyone driving.

What is there for every age to do?

The beach does most of the work here, and it is directly across the road. The patrolled flags are a few steps from our front door, so the swimmers in the group have lifeguards close by while the grandparents watch from the sand.

A short walk south along the foreshore, Justins Park has flat paths, big shade trees and a playground beside the beachfront path, which keeps young kids busy while everyone else takes it slowly. For calmer water, Tallebudgera Creek is about ten minutes away and its shallow, still edges suit toddlers and anyone who would rather paddle than tackle the surf.

Back at the tower, the two pools, the heated spa, the steam room and the games room with its pool table and arcade machines mean there is always something on when arms and legs need a break from the sand. The full-size floodlit tennis court is there for the energetic teenagers.

How do parking, lifts and step-free routes work?

Multi-family trips live or die on logistics, so here are the practical facts. Parking is free on site, which matters when the group rolls in across two or three cars. Lifts run the full height of the thirty-floor building, so the trip from the car to the apartment is step-free, prams and suitcases and all.

Every apartment sits on a single level (the six-bedroom penthouse is the exception, being two storeys), so within your own space there are no stairs to negotiate once you are up. The undercover barbecue area and the pool deck are easy to reach for a group gathering, and our tour desk can book the day trips and activities so nobody has to organise it from scratch.

FAQs about a multi-family stay at Burleigh Surf

Can we all stay in one apartment?

Yes. Our two-storey six-bedroom penthouse sleeps up to twelve, so three generations can share one roof. If you would rather have a bit of separation, book a three-bedroom apartment for the family and a one-bedroom for the grandparents on the same trip.

Is the beach easy for older grandparents and young kids?

Yes. The patrolled beach sits directly across the road from our front door, so there is no long walk or car trip to reach the sand. Justins Park on the foreshore has flat paths, shade and a playground a few minutes away on foot.

Can we park more than one car?

Yes. Parking is free on site, so a group arriving in two or three cars is fine. Lifts run through all thirty floors, so once you are parked it is a step-free ride up to your apartment with the luggage and the prams.

Where can a big group eat without a huge bill?

Miami Marketta, about five minutes away, is an undercover street-food hall with seating for around 1,200 and no booking needed, so everyone picks their own dish. Burleigh Pavilion above the beach takes larger bookings and has a kids menu.

Three generations, one tower, and the beach across the road: that is the shape of a Burleigh Surf family holiday. Take the six-bedroom penthouse or book a cluster of apartments, and everyone still lands in the same building at the quiet north end. Have a look at our apartments and book direct, or read more about the three-bedroom apartments if a larger layout suits your group.
