Two thrilling athletic events will take place in November on the Southern Gold Coast that you must not miss!
On November 3–5, the 7th Gold Coast Beach 5s Spring Festival will transpire, while on November 25–26, the inaugural Gold Coast Beach Oztag tournament will ensue. Both events will take place on Coolangatta’s breathtaking Greenmount Beach. What you need to know about these competitions is provided below.
- Gold Coast Beach 5s Spring Festival
There are no lineouts, scrums, or conversions in Australia’s 7th Gold Coast Beach 5s Spring Festival, a 5-a-side sand-based competition based on modified Rugby Union, Rugby League, and Touch Football regulations. Everybody is welcome. You can choose to join a social squad or a Premier 5s team.
All age categories, from U12 Juniors to Men’s and Women’s, can participate in the competition. There will be a Premier Elite 5s Open Men, Women, and Men Social and a Sunset Afterparty on Saturday—moreover, Beach 5’s youth and school get-together on Sunday. Everyone can watch the game free from the stands and cheer on their favourite team.
- Gold Coast Beach Oztag
Get ready for Queensland’s inaugural Gold Coast Beach Oztag competition. Players compete on a specially created Oztag field (50m x 30m) on the sand in this thrilling, quick-paced, and dynamic game known as Beach Oztag.
Senior and Junior divisions will be available throughout the weekend, with Seniors competing on Saturday and Juniors on Sunday. Food trucks, bars, live music venues, and shops will all be present for a fun, active weekend for participants and spectators.
