Take the opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy all the wonderful natural features that this lovely location has to offer. Burleigh Headland is a protected national park which play host to bush turkeys, bearded dragons, kites, ospreys and dolphins that swim in the nearby Tallebudgera Creek.

Burleigh Heads national park is also a vital part of the native Kombumerri peoples’ legend. They tell of Jabreen, the Creation Spirit, who’s fingers still protrude as rocky boulders from the top of the headland.

Burleigh’s 2.5 kilometer  beach is perfect for a morning walk. Every day you can join the many locals who either walk or jog along the pathway beside the beach. Even better, step off the pathway and feel the wonderful sand between your toes!

Feeling adventurous? Learn to surf with local legend Michael “Munga” Barry and his Burleigh based suf school Godfathers of the Ocean. Using his own unique approach, Munga and his crew will have you up and on a wave before you know it.

It’s Sunday, time to browse the local markets. The Village Markets expresses the more quirky side of our talented local designers and artists. Held on the first Sunday of each month at the Burleigh State Primary School, you’re sure to find a unique gift. Alternatively, on the last Sunday of the months stroll along the Esplanade at the Beachfront Art and Craft Market and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Organic Farmers Market takes place every Sunday on the ground of Miami State School, pickup all your needs at great prices and get off to a healthy start to the day.
