Burleigh Heads Accommodation

Have just returned from another great family holiday at Burleigh Surf Apartments. This was our 3^rd visit and we booked in for our 4^th one before we left. We find this location to be perfect for our family, lots to do in the area, close to all the local buses, restaurants and not to mention the beach is right across the street. The children can’t wait to hit the indoor heated pool every morning and it makes no difference if the weather is bad, between the pool and the games room the children were always occupied. The tennis court is great and even though none of us can really play it was good fun giving it a go.

We love the Burleigh Heads Apartments here, they’re very spacious, always clean, fantastic ocean views and very friendly staff that have always gone out of their way to help us, it’s becoming our home away from home. We need to stay on a lower level as my husband doesn’t like heights and they are more than happy to accommodate any of these requests. We managed to lock ourselves out not once but twice during our last stay and there was no problem in getting help even at 9pm at night, that’s service for you.

 The balconies are great and this year we saw pods of whales right out in front, AMAZING, the kids were very impressed not even Seaworld could better that one for them and it didn’t cost us anything!

Burleigh Surf is a hit with our family.

There are literally thousands of places to stay on the Gold Coast. But, for the best in Ocean Views, Beaches, Facilities and everything else needed for a great vacation, you would be hard pressed to do better than Burleigh Surf Self Catering Apartments!

Our family has been coming now for the last 15 years. It is a great spot for families with young children or teenagers as well as perfect for just two. Burleigh Surf is a 31 Storey High Rise and is only separated from the beach by a relatively quiet road and a promenade lined with Norfolk Pines. The first 15 floors are mainly one and two bedroom Apartments with 4 to a floor. Floors 16 to 24 are mainly two Bedroom but there are a couple of one Bedroom Apartments. Floors 25 to 31 are the three Bedroom Penthouse Apartments.

Each Apartment has a small, but separate Kitchen which has a fridge, oven, dishwasher and microwave. A basic level of cutlery is supplied, but we do bring a couple of things with us (good Kitchen Knife) because the stuff supplied is minimum standard. Each Apartment is individually owned and therefore the quality of fixtures and fittings does vary considerably. There are Standard and Deluxe Apartments and you are well advised to discuss the options when booking. One of the 3 Bedroom Penthouse Suites was a disappointment with uncomfortable beds and furniture. However, management are very helpful and accommodating when possible and we now have a few different Apartments short listed! Each Apartment has a washing machine and Iron, also a TV and DVD player.

Amenities and facilities are excellent and are as follows: Indoor Heated Pool & Spa; Outdoor Pool; Games and Fitness rooms (basic level); Tennis Court; Barbeques and underground car parking, although you could stay anywhere along the Esplanade and not even need a car as public transport is very frequent.

Just a short walk (300m) is a small shopping centre which has a Coles Supermarket and a good choice of take-away food outlets including a Noodle Box; Sushi Train; Coffee Shop and Fish & Chips. We’ve tried them all and can recommend. There is also a Chemist, Post Office and Bottle Shop.

Almost opposite the Apartments is the Surf Life Saving Club and that is also good for a feed if you don’t feel like cooking. About a kilometre walk away is Burleigh Heads central and that has an extensive range of shops and places to eat.

In summary, I would give Burleigh Surf Apartments a 3.0 to 3.5 Star rating on fixtures and fittings, but definitely a 5.0 Star rating when it comes to location and the stunning views!

Burleigh Surf Apartments is a 30 level tower right on the surf front (cross the road to the beach). There are three categories of apartments, bottom 15 or so levels are four apartments to a floor; next up to around level 24 are three apartments to the floor, then the sub-penthouses where the floor is split into two apartments. We stayed in the mid-level accommodation (three apartments to the floor) in the middle of the three apartments on that level and we loved it. Great views up and down the coast; the two end apartments have a view either up or down the coast and a view over the hinterland as well. Huge dining, lounge area; bedrooms – two, one at either end of the apartment, main with ensuite, kids had own bathroom) and a good serviceable kitchen.

Indoor and outdoor swimming pool downstairs – reasonable, not best out there but our youngest loved it. Older kids used the beach.

Easy driving to Gold Coast attractions. You would need a car if staying here (but parking is free). From here we spent a week at Byron Bay in some better appointed luxury units but this accommodation with the views and space was our favourite.

Such a great location just a few steps away from the beautiful white sandy beach – Burleigh Surf Apartments became our home away from home, where the staff were really caring about the well being of my family. The ladies who work at the reception desk were so friendly and helpful – their smooth check-in got us off to a great start and our apartment was spacious with really comfortable beds, a huge spa bath in the ensuite and fantastic ocean and mountain views – I took a great many amazing photographs of those views.

We had lots of fun together in the games room and thank goodness for the heated indoor pool in the cooler May weather, it was a god send for the children.

Most of all, I appreciated that the surrounding area was safe and clean for my family – we enjoyed the fresh air and walks along the beach to the local restaurants and cafes.

We will certainly stay again next year and I truly recommend this very special property to my friends and family.
